PACKED COLUMNS
Packed columns, unlike GC capillary columns, are packed with fine particles with closed ends. Packed columns offer more significant pressure drop across the columns and hence are shorter in length in comparison to a capillary column.
A packed column mostly consists of three components:
- Tubing
- Packing
- End plugs
